An Autumn Sky

One of my friends, Kaushik Roy, wrote a couple of lines on Facebook:

She is like the autumn sky / You can feel her, but you can’t touch.....

And this inspired me to write the following few lines ...


Oftentimes when you've wanted to reach for a star,

Have you thought that it might just burn?

Oftentimes when you've seen an oases,

Have you thought that it might be just a fern?

Oftentimes when you've felt you're at the end,

Have you thought there might just be new things to learn?

Oftentimes when you've tried to touch the autumn sky,

Have you thought that she might just want you to yearn?
