A patch of sand
On the desert expanse
Was stifled by the heat ...
A stray breeze
Passing by
Wished to give it a treat ...
The patch smiled
And dared to breathe
A smile escaped it ...
A few blooming buds
Colorful and bright
And the little patch felt fit ...
But, as luck would have it
The desert detected
The smell ever so mild ...
And took a stern decision
To bring back to reality
Its dreamy little child ...
It increased the oppression
The heat stifled again
Which the flowers could not take ...
And the little patch of sand
Knew how wrong it had been
Of dreaming of life, while still awake ...
And the patch of sand
On the desert expanse
Remained forever so, stifled by the heat ...
